Bucket Elevators
Bucket elevators are mechanical conveying systems designed for vertically lifting flowable bulk materials. They are capable of handling a wide range of materials, from fine powders to large lumps, and from light to heavy bulk densities.
A centrifugal discharge bucket elevator may be configured in vertical or inclined arrangements. Vertical elevators rely entirely on centrifugal force to discharge material into the chute and therefore operate at relatively high speeds.
Inclined bucket elevators, with buckets either closely spaced or widely spaced, allow the discharge chute to be positioned partially beneath the head pulley. Since these designs do not rely solely on centrifugal force for discharge, they can operate at lower speeds while maintaining smooth material flow.
Bucket elevators are ideal for vertical conveying of large volumes of material such as iron ore pellets, sand, fly ash, and other dry, dusty, or powdery materials commonly used in industrial processing.
